6 generations of family
Dominique, Marketing

Photo book with image of a young girl getting a piggy back from her grandad.

1. Why did you create your project?

I wanted to celebrate my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary with something special.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Premium Medium Photo Book. Many of the images I used were scans of old photographs. I wanted them to be as high quality as possible and a smaller format is a bit more forgiving when you're using older photos. I chose to create a photo book because there were 60+ years of memories that I wanted to preserve so having a high page count was important.

3. What do you love about it?

I love that this book is a collection of the best moments of the past 60+ years. The book is a keepsake that contains moments from across 6 generations. My grandparents have hundreds of photographs in photo albums, and old shoeboxes in storage for safe keeping. This photo book is something that they keep on their coffee table and flick through at any time with ease.

Travels with my sister
Matt, Finance

Photo book with cover image of an intricate ceiling design.

1. Why did you create your project?

I wanted to preserve the lifelong memories of an unforgettable trip with my sister.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Classic Medium Photo Book. Medium is the perfect size for a travel book and the Classic range brings a timeless element to the creation. Plus, the size is perfect for a household bookcase.

3. What do you love about it?

A MILK Photo Book beautifully portrays memories of our epic trip around the US. Photos bring back the sights, sounds and smells of all the big attractions and the surprisingly good “off the grid” places you end up whilst in another country.

Penny & her amazing life
Astral, Customer Care

Open photo book with image of a family swimming in a pool.

1. Why did you create your project?

I created an album for my mum's 60th birthday present!

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Premium Large Photo Album because I wanted a product that my mum could display. Plus, the project had lots of family photos so the large format was best as I had a lot of images to print. I also had a few images that I wanted to showcase on full double page spreads so this format was perfect for me!

3. What do you love about it?

I love the double page spreads the most, they had such an impact when my mum opened those pages. I tried to use high resolution images so that they were crisp and bright and they ended up printing beautifully. My mum really loves the sturdiness of the album and as the pages are so thick she knows it will last a long time. While precious, the clear quality means she isn’t nervous to pull it out and show it off to lots of friends. Also the UV print text on the cover and spine made the outside look professional and sophisticated even though it was just regular family pics inside.

3 kids, 365 days
Carl, CEO

Open photo book with a double page image of three young children at the park.

1. Why did you create your project?

Every year I create a family photo book to get all of our photos offline and onto the page.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Premium Large Photo Book. Parents take so many pictures of their children especially when they are young. Every picture has a story behind it so its difficult to leave any out. I chose to create with the format that has the most surface area, so I could fit more pictures on a page whilst ensuring each is still at a reasonable size. This allowed me to maximize the amount of pictures in my book.

3. What do you love about it?

I love having a physical object that my children pull out and look through on a regular basis. There's something about flicking through our memories together in a physical format that can't be replicated through a screen.

European adventures
Maddy, Marketing

Open photo book with images of Santorini, Greece.

1. Why did you create your project?

After living abroad in the UK for almost four years, I created a travel book to document all our European adventures.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Premium Large Landscape Photo Book. There were two main things that helped me make my decision: 1) I had a lot of photos and 2) I wanted to create something that’d look like nice on our coffee table. Premium Photo Books have up to 200 pages and are bound to lay near-flat, so that was perfect for me. I also knew I wasn’t going to be able to pick a stand-out photo for the front cover so I chose the Premium range for the exclusive UV cover upgrade option. I ended up going with the design that allowed me to include all the destinations we traveled to on the cover.

3. What do you love about it?

I love that we now have the photos in physical form, rather than them just being stuck on our phones or computers. I’m also not a big photo-sharer on the traditional platforms, so to have a Photo Book at home that our friends and family can look through is really special.

Sweet Lulu
Jacinda, Production

Open photo book with image of a cat.

1. Why did you create your project?

I wanted to create a book that encapsulates all of the good times I had with my sweet pet before her life was sadly taken away.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I created a Premium Medium Photo Album. Our Premium range is simply the best and I wanted to create something worthy of all the moments we shared. The process of creating it helped me remember all we’d been through together and how much joy she’d brought into my life. I laughed and cried while making the book and now I’ll always have something to remember her by.

3. What do you love about it?

I no longer needed to scroll through countless photos on my phone to find the photos of Lulu that I wanted to see. In the book all my memories are in one place along with dates and comments next to each photo, with time and place details and background info. Manifesting your memories into a book format gives them pride of place within your home and a permanent space on a shelf or coffee table to remind you of the things that matter to you at present, or that mattered in the past.

Jasmine & Hartley's Wedding
Caitlin, Marketing

Open photo book with images of a newlywed couple walking back down the aisle.

1. Why did you create your project?

After being a bridesmaid at my cousin's wedding, I wanted to surprise her with a great wedding gift. We grew up together and seeing her marry her best friend was a moment that deserved to be preserved in a photo album.

2. What product did you create with and why?

I chose the Premium Photo Album and I added a matching Presentation Box, just to give it that little bit of extra protection and because it made it feel more like a gift. I chose the Metallic Blue Buckram fabric cover because it's her favorite color and it complimented her wedding theme too.

3. What do you love about it?

I loved their reaction to seeing their wedding day come to life again. The professional photographs looked great in print and it was special to be able to give them something they could carry with them as they start their married life. They've moved overseas and bought their first home in the time since I gifted it, and I know their wedding album still has pride of place on their coffee table. It's the best gift I've ever given.
