Warning - hidden charges

Warning - hidden charges... I was very disappointed to be charged an additional $130 for my order after the fact for duties / fees, when I was led to believe that all charges were already covered in what I had paid for the product and shipping. MILK Books is aware of these additional duty charges when delivering to the US, but they intentionally keep disclosure of these fees very minimal and hidden on their site. They should be upfront about this additional cost so customers can budget that into their expectations for total cost. On top of this, shipping was delayed because MILK Books was not clear with FedEx regarding company of origin, and sorting out those logistics and additional documents fell to me. Was happy with the product, but disappointed by the service and dishonesty around extra charges. Asked MILK Books to make it right by covering the duty charge, but they would not do so. Just a warning to others to realize that the final cost will be more than expected.
Huge shipping costs and import fees

The platform to build the album was great, but after all that work, you find out you have to pay huge shipping costs... and even worse, because it ships from Hong Kong, we had to pay importation fee!! The album ended up costing almost twice as much. We were so angry.

Everything was fine until I realized that my order was coming from ... China ! I take lot of care about environmental protection and this should has been indicated by beforehand. Additionally I had to pay an additional $20 FedEx tax that wasn’t mentioned at the beginning . The book was fine and beautifully crafted, but the logistics were terrible. I’m not coming back.
The book is very pretty on the outside but with not so sharp pictures on the inside

The book is very pretty on the outside. But the high-resolution, high-quality photos I provided were not sharp in the book. Too bad for a wedding album which is very important to us.

I was originally excited to receive the MILK book I created for our wedding day! The process to build it online was fairly user friendly and did not require you to be a tech wizard or master photographer. When it arrived I thought it was absolutely beautiful. Great quality and everything. Then, after a few days (I just got it last month), the back cover started to curve and bend. Now, the book doesn’t lie flat! I am trying to get it back to the appropriate shape, which I shouldn’t have to do; especially having the book less than 1 month. I actually am a little upset because we paid a good amount of our hard earned money to capture these memories. It’s unfortunate, but I don’t think I’ll order from here again. The quality apparently wasn’t as great as I thought. :-(
