What compelled you to take these images? What was your inspiration?
Trying to capture the beauty of the liminal space between reality and dreams. The beauty of the undersea and my love of being submerged. They are self and assisted-self portraits.
What is your favorite image in the book and why?
The cover shot (directly above). It really sums up for me how beautiful it feels to be underwater.
What is your favorite story behind a single shot in the book?
This is one of my favorite beaches in the whole world, Goode Beach, in Albany, WA. I was swimming with a boy I liked (who took the picture), wearing my favourite Undercover bikini. The water was cold and deep, and we had the whole beach to ourselves.
