White or Black Board for Premium Photo Albums

White or Black Board: A refined new choice

Every material, binding method, paper type and design option we offer is chosen with intention. Not only for its aesthetic impact and longevity, but for how it defines the experience of a finished MILK Photo Book or Album.

We’ve now introduced a new design feature, exclusive to our Leather Photo Albums and Premium Photo Albums.

Alongside our signature White Board (the default option), you now have the option to select a Black Board. This new design choice is subtle, but can impactfully refine the look of your finished album.

White and Black Board on Albums

What does the board refer to?

The board refers to the structural core of each page in our Leather and Premium Photo Albums. It creates the weight, stability and lay-flat viewing experience that defines this collection. Your images are printed on your chosen paper, then carefully mounted edge-to-edge onto the board. Your print finish remains the same, vibrant 6-color print, regardless of whether you select White or Black Board.

White Board - Our standard, classic finish

White Board is our signature, classic option – the one we’ve always used, and the default setting when you start creating your album. It creates a clean, traditional finish, keeping the overall look of your album light, timeless and familiar.

Black Board - A refined, contrast finish

Choosing a Black Board introduces a more defined edge to your photo album. As opposed to an uninterrupted page edge, the Black Board adds contrast when viewed side on, with the dark core creating a black and white effect. The result is a modern, design-led finish that pairs perfectly with our darker cover fabrics, like Black or Mocca Premium Leather, or Black Buckram. And because your photos are printed on a thick paper that's mounted onto the board, rather than the board itself, choosing Black Board won't darken your images or affect print quality in any way.

Consistency in craftsmanship

While the appearance differs slightly, the construction of our Premium Photo Albums remains exactly the same, regardless of your board choice.

• Thick, weighty pages

• Lay-flat, flush-mount binding

• Your choice of two archival-quality paper options

• Vibrant, 6-color printing

How do I add Black Board to my project?

Choosing the board colors in the design studio

Black Board is available for our Leather Photo Albums and Premium Photo Albums. You can select Black Board via the project settings in the Design Studio.

A subtle detail, thoughtfully considered

Both versions of Photo Albums

White and Black Board offer two distinct finishes to your album’s edge. One classic and light, the other defined and striking.
