Milestones

Our 3 wedding books shipped quicker than expected, which was nice. The overall quality was ok, though I noticed a few things. For one book, on the final page, the ink hadn’t fully dried before they assembled it and you could see some of the ink had smudged onto the last white page. As it was the last page (and these were gifts I need to ship out quickly) I didn’t complain to MILK. Secondly, the color wasn’t as vibrant as I was expecting. I chose the matte paper finish, which maybe had something to do with it, but still a little disappointing. Finally, I have doubts about the binding’s longevity - it just didn’t feel terribly stable. These were the medium premium photo books, with a linen cover, btw. I don’t have experience with other book companies to compare. I will say I greatly enjoyed the design software - design choices are plentiful and sleek. Overall I’m satisfied, but not blown away.

The books are great quality and affordable if you cant get them on a discount. But the shipping costs at the end are a real rip off. There need to be other shipping options.

They deliver world wide, because the books come from China. Make sure to read about all the additional delivery fees! We paid 30 euros in taxes at the front door, which is not what you I was looking for ordering a gift.

We actually had a gift voucher so we can't really complain about the price ourselves but I don't think we would buy another if we had to pay full price. The quality of the book was pretty good, but it's not something I would pay several hundred dollars for. The printed pages on hefty board are very nice; the photo quality and colours are ok but I wasn't blown away. My initial impression when we received it wasn't great as the front cover wasn't at the quality I expected. We selected a front cover with a small photo surrounded by cloth. I guess I expected the photo to be "behind" the cloth, i.e. printed on a cover and then cloth with a window in it wrapped around. Instead the photo seems to have just been cut out and glued on the cloth. At this price level, that definitely surprised me. Possibly their other cover options are better done - if so I wish we'd known that in advance! The design software is impressive with some painful flaws. It's very capable and allows you to flexibly lay out photos however you like, but there is not (that I could find) any way to save your work and go back to an earlier version, and it is all to easy to make a move that undoes a page's layout completely. It was fun but frustrating to design.

the cover and quality of the paper is good but the colour reproduction of the photos is poor.
