Milestones

I like the product a lot, they make beautiful books. As a designer, I like that you have a lot of control over the layout. I have made several books with MILK. What I don't like: If you buy a voucher, it expires in 6 months and you lose the $. I am in the US and I don't even think that is legal(In the US: The federal CARD Act (Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act) prohibits expiration periods of less than five years on prepaid vouchers. But you have to buy vouchers to get the best value and sales. This shows that they are making a profit on the unused vouchers. It would seem that a company selling to the US should follow US laws. All of the other books that I purchased included free shipping in the voucher. To my surprise, I had to pay $25 shipping for my last book. $25! EDITED: Also in the US companies understand customer service and reach out to customers instead of writing a rebuttal on an honest customer review like below. Maybe don't email customers asking for honest feedback if you don't actually want it.

The actual product is lovely and I have no complaints. However we were contacted after we had ordered and were told there was another delivery cost. This was never mentioned before we ordered. I obviously wanted the product so paid for the extra delivery cost but I wouldn’t order from MILK books again because of this hidden cost.

I was happy with the book quality. However I was very disappointed with what I felt were hidden costs associated with the purchase. The first of these was an extremely high shipping cost. The website gave me the impression that this was a UK company (although to be fair this is not explicitly stated), so it was a shock to be faced with a very high shipping cost for the book to be shipped from Hong Kong. The shipping cost was not revealed until after I had spent many hours on my book, so it was too late to consider alternative companies. Secondly, I had to pay a further import tariff on delivery of the book, which I was not aware of (it is briefly mentioned in the FAQ section of the website, but is not made clear up front). These costs should be made much clearer up front. I had committed to spending roughly £80 on the book, but the additional costs which I wasn’t aware of at the start amounted to a further £45. I was happy with the book which made a great gift, but ultimately felt misled by the company. When I raised this with them by email, they did not seem concerned, and took no action.

I didn't think the colour in my latest book was up to scratch, I've ordered Moleskin books the previous four books, and I much prefer the layout options and the colour or production in those for some reason.

i Did a lot of research on quality, price and location before choosing a printer. I chose milk books because of the quality and there was a promotion code. When I purchased my book there was no information about where my book would be shipping from so I have now been informed I have to pay an extra £56 for import duties from Hong along for the book. Seems a bit inappropriate when it wasn’t transparent on the website when I ordered.
