Drop-shipped from Hong Kong. Deceptive website suggests it's all NZ based. Extortionate shipping/customs fees. Only store I've ever bought from where I've had to pay such a high fee for customs/import duties separately. Goods from China, Hong Kong, or non-trade-agreement countries often get taxed more heavily - don't waste your money!!!!

Both my family member and I bought these books for a gift and while on first delivery they were beautiful, within the first week the front and back covers began to bow out so the book no longer closes well or lays flat. For the price point of this book I expected it to keep its shape!
Good product but beware of hidden customs charges!

I was impressed with Milk Books initially, although it did seem very expensive - we wanted something special for our wedding album so decided to spend more than we would ordinarily. We found the online creation process easy and were so pleased with the result and quality when the photo book arrived promptly after. However 2 weeks after receiving the photo book, we got a FedEx bill out of the blue for just under £50 for customs charges which we were not prior warned about, we had already paid £16 for delivery and if we had been informed about the additional hidden customs charges, we likely wouldn't have purchased the item in the first place. Milk Books were quick to respond but said they couldn't help and the mistake was not theirs, which I found disappointing to say the least. The Milkbook website does mention the possibility of charges but Milkbook said it did not expect these for a UK order. I've tried to dispute the charges with FedEx but have had no luck and they maintain that these items customs duties and taxes were correct. I'm left feeling quite disappointed with a tainted experience and therefore would not use Milk Books again. I think that appropriate information should be displayed on the website with prior warning given at point of sale of potentially expensive hidden costs when shipping internationally, so consumers can make informed decisions about the total cost of an item.
