I purchased a voucher and when it came down to it I wanted to switch to a larger book. I didn't realize my voucher wasn't transferrable, so i reached out to customer service. This was an honest mistake, I said upfront I want to spend every penny I gave you already and more. I didn't have any intent on getting a refund, i just wanted to transfer my credits. After talking to two people and over 4 days - I was able to transfer most of my credit. And I spent an additional $60. It was a little unsettling that after all of this and purchasing a $400 book ( which i am happy with, the book is great) , the choice was to withhold a couple dollars as "non-transferrable" (a little humorous). When i received my book there was also a blue thumb smudge, but otherwise very happy with my end purchase.

Poor print. Came from Gong Kong

I've been MILK Books customers since 2013. The prices have gone up significantly since 2013 but I had always been happy to pay for it. I recently printed one book (Medium Classic Landscape Book) to match the previous books I printed but unfortunately the size is now 10% smaller than the previous Medium Classic Landscape Books. I contacted customers support and was told that the size was different because I upgraded to the Premium Cover (the software didn't mention this when I added the upgrade). The website didn't state clearly the size of the books. If they are going to reduce the size of the books, they should have changed the name of the products to a new range so returning customers would know what to expect before putting in the order. I was offer a 50% discount for a reprint but the book is so expensive, I do not want to pay for another copy again. The books are beautiful but they have become too expensive and the UI of the software is not very user friendly. It lacks an ability to customise and often have glitches. This is probably the last time we will use Milk books and will explore other photo book companies instead.

Was thoroughly disappointed with MILK Books. I purchased a voucher to create our wedding album during a sale. After comparing many companies, it seemed they would provide comparable quality at a lower cost. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The biggest headache was using the online designer. While there are a large number of programmed layouts to choose from, these didn't always meet our needs or preferences. Unfortunately, the system's capacity for customization is limited. If you rearrange the boxes on the page, there is no "snap to" function for alignment & oftentimes the boxes seem to snap out of alignment when done manually. This is noted on their website, but I only found this when diligently searching for a solution. After many hours of struggling with the system, we ultimately decided to create layouts in PowerPoint and upload the entire spread as a single image. The most significant disappointment was the cover. The album we chose required us to have a cover image (we would have preferred a plain front, but this album had other specifications that were higher priority). I expected that this image would be printed in high quality and displayed as an inset behind plastic. Instead, when the final album arrived, the cover has our image printed on thin paper which appears glued to the front of the album. It makes the album look cheap & reduces my expectations for long-term durability. Overall, despite some concerns with the exterior quality and major frustration with designing, the quality of the printed images was satisfactory. The images are crisp & true to color, though sometimes minorly misaligned. If the price is right, you have some time on your hands, and you don't care much for customization, I think you'd be happy- though I would recommend selecting an album without a cover image if you'd like a more upscale, elegant look.
