Was thoroughly disappointed with MILK Books. I purchased a voucher to create our wedding album during a sale. After comparing many companies, it seemed they would provide comparable quality at a lower cost. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. The biggest headache was using the online designer. While there are a large number of programmed layouts to choose from, these didn't always meet our needs or preferences. Unfortunately, the system's capacity for customization is limited. If you rearrange the boxes on the page, there is no "snap to" function for alignment & oftentimes the boxes seem to snap out of alignment when done manually. This is noted on their website, but I only found this when diligently searching for a solution. After many hours of struggling with the system, we ultimately decided to create layouts in PowerPoint and upload the entire spread as a single image. The most significant disappointment was the cover. The album we chose required us to have a cover image (we would have preferred a plain front, but this album had other specifications that were higher priority). I expected that this image would be printed in high quality and displayed as an inset behind plastic. Instead, when the final album arrived, the cover has our image printed on thin paper which appears glued to the front of the album. It makes the album look cheap & reduces my expectations for long-term durability. Overall, despite some concerns with the exterior quality and major frustration with designing, the quality of the printed images was satisfactory. The images are crisp & true to color, though sometimes minorly misaligned. If the price is right, you have some time on your hands, and you don't care much for customization, I think you'd be happy- though I would recommend selecting an album without a cover image if you'd like a more upscale, elegant look.

Images reproduced at poor quality. We were told that what we clicked on would be reproduced in print. Images in edit book were lo res for on line purposes. When we clicked we got our high resolution (12” long edge ppi or dpi) visible. Higher than required in most instances. What was printed was color shift and lower res. I love how the book is assembled. I would not recommend the printing.

I just received my wedding photobook - when I first unwrapped it, I was very disappointed as the front cover photo seems like a glued on photo. There's no finish or protection around the corners, I imagine the corners will easily be damaged or pulled away. On the 'creating page', it appears as if the cover photo is inlaid (there are even indent shadows on the 'creator'), or that the front cover creates a frame for the cover photo. However otherwise, the quality of the pages and photos (and colour) are great, albeit with some warping of the first page, possibly due to printing / colour saturation - but that first impression isn't great, unfortunately.

I was very much looking forward to receiving our photobook as the images online looked great. Unfortunately, when I received it, I found the colour of the linen different to what I was expecting, the photo on the front of the album was poorly stuck down, and the colours of the photos printed within the album were not true to the original images. Other than that, it is still nice to have our images printed, however I would not purchase another photobook through Milk.

Milk albums appear to be the preferred company for Apple these days. The standard isn’t what it was when Apple were printing “in house”. Paper quality was lower than I would have hoped for. Very expensive too. I was totally ripped off by the exchange rate. Will look for another company to print my photo albums in future.
