The picture quality was lackluster to say the least. The cover photo especially looks blurry and the finish on it is strange. I reached out to customer service, who told me that if I wanted high quality photos I need to purchase the “premium album”. This is a total scam considering how much I paid for a simple album. Would never recommend.

I had a very mixed experience with MILK Books. On the plus side, the final print quality of my book was excellent, but on the down side there were a number of complications in getting to that final result. I spent quite a bit of time designing my book using a variety of the existing layouts and customizing them with the free transform tool. As my wife will unhappily attest, I spent many a night making sure that I had everything perfect before finalizing the book and submitting it for printing. Once the book was at the printer, I received a link for sharing with friends, etc. On this link, there were a number of issues - photos that I had very carefully positioned, had shifted around relative to type and headers, and in one case the page layout had changed entirely. To be fair, it is entirely possible that, without noticing, I may have inadvertently clicked on a different layout when doing my final review, but the image sizes and positioning, were details that I had reviewed several times before submitting my book for printing. Once I saw these problems and asked what could be done to correct them, the responses from the MILK Books representative were mixed. Again, to give credit, where credit is due, I do believe that the customer service rep from MILK worked hard to find solutions and get to a good end result. Unfortunately, the initial response to the problems, was essentially blaming me for having made the mistakes, claiming that I hadn't been precise enough in placing my images, even though in Review mode, everything looked perfect when I went to finalize and submit the book for printing. MILK Books offered to print an additional book for a substantially reduced charge, which at first blush seemed like a fair solution. What I didn't realize at the time, was that I wouldn't be receiving the first printing at all, and that I was really just paying extra to reprint all the pages and then for a single copy of the book to be bound. This would have been more than fair if it had been my fault that the formatting was wrong, but by the end of this process, MILK Books had eventually admitted that there were some issues with the free transform tool, or possibly the viewing of the results from using that tool. The final solution in getting to a finished book, was for the MILK Books team, in their offices, to manually adjust the spacing between images and type throughout the book to ensure that it would print accurately. So, while I truly appreciate that the in the end there was a willingness to work though the issues and get to a beautiful final result, it did involve me having to swallow my pride regarding mistakes I didn't make, pay a substantial up-charge an endure a lengthy delay over the original promised delivery date. I'm sure that for those users who just drop and size images into the standard layouts, there is far less likelihood of any problems, but before using the provided tools for any more detailed customization, I would recommend checking to make sure that these glitches have been corrected.

I spent a few hours creating a photobook only to find out during checkout that they charge $26 dollars for shipping! After spending $400 on a photobook, why in the world would this company have the audacity to charge for premium shipping? Needless to say I wasted my time creating a photobook because I am definitely not paying almost $30 for shipping.

Bad software, bad customer service, really expensive. Go somewhere else and get a book just as nice for half the price!
