Milestones

I was very excited to get my wedding album. I wouldn’t say that the finished product isn’t nice - it is a good looking book - however I was expecting more. The pages feel thin, and the pictures all came out with a pink undertone, which I am very disappointed about. I love my photographer’s pictures for the very balanced colours and light and I felt like the printed version looked very far from the pictures themselves. I am still happy we got a wedding album, but I wouldn’t necessarily redo an album with Milk Books.

I’ve had a number of photo books from Milk. This recent one may be the last. After spending hundreds of dollars with the company we weren’t happy with our latest book. Having contacted them about what seemed to be massively limiting the pages. I was told the maximum pages were now 80 (our last book was 200) On receiving our new book it was much smaller & no outer cover either. Whilst it was hard to compare the cost to the previous book due to the huge difference in page numbers, it’s just not in the same league. These albums aren’t cheap so when we contacted them to express that we weren’t best pleased, especially as it was a continuation of the previous album too, we were really disappointed at how quickly they dismissed it. Not sure I’d recommend them any more.

I used the Mac app. I was disappointed in how difficult it was to get my content to fit into the predetermined layouts. With no ability to truly customize in order to ensure my art could have a home on the correct and in the correct page order without sacrificing scaling or quality. It turned into a labor of love rather than a satisfying experience.

The book arrived beautifully packaged, and it was lovely to open. However, for the £240 I paid, I was disappointed with the overall quality. I ordered a medium-sized book but was surprised by how small it actually was when it arrived. I also felt the paper quality could have been better for the price. As this was our wedding book, I expected something a little more substantial and premium. Had I realised the actual size and quality beforehand, I would have thought twice about spending £240 on it. While the packaging was lovely, unfortunately, I don’t feel the finished product quite justified the price.
