I’m really disappointed with my experience. I paid $1,156.80 AUD for my photo album, only to be told once it reached Australia that I needed to pay another $289 in GST/import charges before DHL would release the shipment.
I understand that GST applies to imports over $1,000, and there was a notice at checkout mentioning that GST had been removed. However, paying another $289 after already paying $1,100+ was not something I anticipated.
I’ve ordered plenty of products internationally before and have never encountered an additional charge like this after paying for the order. It honestly feels like my completed photo album is being held hostage until I pay another $289.
For an Australian customer, I feel the total cost of the purchase should simply be reflected in the price at checkout, rather than having a significant mandatory cost added once the order arrives in Australia.

Company promotes itself as an Australian Site but upon ordering my books then get stung with a $330 custom fee !!
They should make it VERY clear on the website that the books don’t get printed in Australia, and that ANY orders over $1000 will be subject to these kind of taxes.
Makes it absolutely pointless ordering books to be stung with that much of a cost at the end.
Would not order again

Very disappointing international customer experience. My wedding album is currently being held by DHL in Mexico and I am being asked to pay MXN $5,635.88 in customs taxes and import charges before I can receive it. I understand that customs duties may apply, but this additional cost is extremely high and makes the purchase financially unreasonable. I have already paid for the album and still do not have it. What should have been an exciting and meaningful purchase has instead become a stressful and uncertain experience. I hope MILK improves its support and solutions for international customers facing excessive import charges.
